The LIBRE Texas Taxpayer Pledge

Hispanic families in Texas know the meaning of hard work. We open businesses, raise families, and build communities that keep our state strong. State leaders have taken important steps to deliver property tax relief, but too many families and small businesses still don’t feel that relief in their pocketbooks. Why? Local governments often hinder state progress through reckless spending, hidden debt, and confusing practices that continue to drive taxes higher.

As a Hispanic taxpayer in Texas, I am committed to staying active at the local and county levels to demand accountability and fairness. I commit to:

• Stop Irresponsible Spending – Push for local spending limits that reflect population and inflation growth.
• Put Power in Voters’ Hands – Make sure taxpayers, not politicians, decide when new debt or higher taxes are on the ballot.
• Expose Hidden Debt – Oppose debt schemes that bypass voters and saddle families and future generations with bills they never agreed to.
• Restore Power to the People – Support stronger ballot transparency, stop low-turnout tax elections, and end taxpayer-funded lobbying.

I stand with my fellow Texans—especially the hardworking Hispanic families who call this state home—to make property tax reform real: locally, fairly, and permanently.

Why It Matters
For Hispanic communities, property taxes should never stand in the way of building the American Dream in Texas. When we show up at city halls, county budget hearings, and school board meetings, we make sure relief is real, lasting, and felt by every family. This pledge is more than words—it’s a promise to fight for accountability and restore the power of the people in Texas.
