- Proposition HH is a bad deal for my family and for all Colorado taxpayers. This proposal is nothing more than a shell game designed to keep billions in TABOR refunds for the next decade.
  
  Families have already received two rounds of TABOR tax refunds that have helped them deal with Colorado’s high energy costs and inflation.
  
  If Proposition HH passes:
  • Local governments will be able to keep money owed to you without asking your permission.
  
  • Colorado taxpayers will lose your TABOR refund. Proposition HH allows government to grow without any guardrails.
  
  This is nothing more than an attempt to weaken TABOR. Recent polling has also shown TABOR is more popular than ever. 78% of Coloradans and a majority of Republicans and Democrats support it.
  
  Proposition HH is a bad deal for Colorado taxpayers, and I am disappointed that you support it.

TABOR has been part of the Colorado Constitution since 1992 and is critically important because it prohibits tax increases without voter approval and limits on the amount of tax revenue the government can keep. Thus, when the state collects more than it is entitled to, it must refund taxpayers’ hard-earned money.
This year, right before the Legislative session was over, politicians wrote the Prop HH ballot language and rushed it through the state legislature to avoid comments from the public. The Politicians, supporters of PROP HH, didn’t want the public to know that this measure will allow the government to keep their TABOR tax refunds that rightfully belong to them.,

Prop HH uses misleading language to make voters belief that they will get a property tax relief. The reality is that Prop HH will take away the much-needed tax refunds that Colorado families use to buy food, pay for gas, rent, transportation, the increasing utility bills, etc. in exchange for a minuscule and temporary property tax assessment reduction.
Because of TABOR, the government cannot raise your taxes without voter approval. However, if Prop HH passes, the state government will not only keep your refund money but will effectively get a green light to increase your taxes now that they have limited you vote on new taxes.
If the government were serious about providing real property tax relief, they can do without any strings attached.
