For more than two decades, families in Colorado have had the option to choose the type of education that most benefits their children. Choosing charter schools has been part of those options. Unfortunately, some politicians in our state think they know better than parents by introducing a 55-page bill that will take away those school choices; making it hard for charter schools to exist.
HB24-1363 is the wrong bill for Colorado families, especially Latino families. Charter schools have specially level the play field for Latino families with limited financial resources that aspire to equal access to high-quality education for their kids. Around 37 percent of the charter school student body that is Latino and Hispanic qualify for free or reduced lunch.
The LIBRE Initiative is fighting to keep the right of parents to decide what schools are best for their children. Join our fight by signing below to send a clear message to those politicians that WE won’t allow them to take away our educational options for our students.
