I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express
my strong support for the America's Children Act H.R. 3442/ S. 1667 and to urge you to vote in
favor of this crucial legislation.
The America's Children Act addresses a pressing issue that
affects children whose legal guardians entered the United States via a visa. They
are the dependents of individuals who entered the United States legally and
have diligently followed the rules and regulations governing their stay in our
country.
Despite their families' unwavering commitment to complying
with U.S. immigration laws, a backlog in the immigration system is placing over
250,000 legal immigrant children at risk of having to "self-deport"
when they turn 21.
The America's Children Act offers a straightforward solution
to this issue. It seeks to close this loophole and ensure that families on work
visas, who have followed our laws and contributed positively to our society,
are not unfairly penalized. This legislation aligns with our nation's
principles of prosperity and opportunity for all, rewarding those who have
played by the rules.
Another significant aspect of this legislation is its
potential to benefit our country economically and technologically. Nearly 90
percent of these individuals are in or interested in STEM fields, making them
valuable assets to our nation's workforce and innovation landscape. By allowing
them to continue their contributions, we not only uphold our principles of
opportunity but also bolster our competitiveness on the global stage.
By voting YES, you will not only uphold the
values of opportunity, prosperity, and mutual benefit but also ensure that these
young individuals have the chance to continue contributing to the nation they
call home.
Thank you for your attention to this critical matter!
